Recently, while recovering from surgery, I had movement restrictions. It ended up being 6 weeks of wearing a funky brace even when I slept to give my body time to heal. When the day came to stop wearing it, I wanted to shout “FREEDOM” at the top of my lungs and toss the brace!
It's funny how we can take for granted movement or other things we do or have without thinking about it, until it’s gone, even temporarily.
Let’s be thankful for what we have, movement, sight and more.
Wow, today I had a moment of recognizing how life has changed. With my hubby away, I decided to go have breakfast at a place we enjoy going to. When I walked in the waitress was asking where my Hubby was and I let her know he’s on the way home from a trip. It’s great to be a regular.
When I was sitting waiting for breakfast to show up, I realized I was sitting alone in a restaurant. This is something I often had avoided because it felt uncomfortable but today, I felt at ease and comfortable with being there. I feel misty eyed thinking of this as I write this. I contribute this ease to tapping and working with a great tapping coach, Helen McConnell. Thank you, Helen, for all you’ve done for me.
Let's notice and celebrate beautiful changes in our lives!
Mom’s Alzheimer’s was progressing and it was rare she was with us. Then one day I could see a spark of Mom life in her eyes come alive. She spoke with clarity to me and then the light left. This was the last Mother, Daughter moment with her as she was before Alzheimer’s took over. I’m thankful for this last glimpse of my Mom.
We never know what is coming, embrace the moments and gifts of others.
Recently, I had a gift of a day to spend with a childhood friend. We laughed, talked and joked about playing like we did as kids. I can’t tell you how many years it’s been since we’ve been able to do this. It was a great reminder to enjoy the gifts of time that come and continue to play.
Let’s cherish the beautiful, awe-inspiring gifts of time that come our way, continue to play through our life and delight in the memories.
